The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch

I don’t think I was prepared for such a beautifully-written book such as this.

It was just the thing I needed after a long week of juggling a lot of things —my usual wife and mom duties, work-from-home projects (my hubby and I have been busy beefing up our savings, and setting aside some for our upcoming family trips!), a few dinners with friends, and home-making and squeezing in some “me time.”

This is a wonderful gift for your book-loving friends and family, a straightforward yet emotionally charged book written by a man faced with a terminal illness, and how (as a professor), he chose the topic of living out your dreams as his “Last Lecture.”

Randy Pausch’s “The Last Lecture” brought tears to my eyes…and a renewed zest for life and love and family.  Every chapter in this book is an eye-opener, sandwiched between stories about experiences —from the mundane and simple (regular every day chores, childhood memories) to great and amazing ones (he dreamt of becoming an Imagineer at Disney…and he achieved his dream, and helped hundreds of others to get into the workforce because of his devoted time as a professor).

After reading this book (I won’t spoil it for you but the last few chapters really got me all emotional, my husband caught me shedding some tears), I actually said that I want to get all my loved-ones a copy, it’s a wonderful and quick read, yet one that stays with you, since it’s a real-life experience about living life to the fullest, whether your time’s up or you feel that every day should just be a fresh new beginning.  Enjoy!
