My TV Guestings on the cooking show Quickfire (with Chef Rosebud Benitez)

I was a guest on a cooking show recently.  It was for a show called QUICKFIRE with Chef Rosebud Benitez, which features easy-to-make homecooked-style recipes in just 10 to 15 minutes, shown on the QTV channel here in Manila.

It was an interesting and fun experience to be sharing two recipes with a celebrity chef, and talking about family life and teaching my child to eat right and exposing her to different kinds of cuisine.

I made sure I had some photos taken of this time.  Simple but rare experiences like these are definitely things I can share with my child, especially when she grows older.

I used to co-host a shop guide show years ago, before I got married and had a child, and being on TV and learning from veteran hosts was an awesome experience.  It felt nice to be back on television, even for just two episodes.  Who knows, maybe I’ll be back on TV one day again?

Upon reading this beautiful book called “A Mom After God’s Own Heart” by Elizabeth George, I was struck by her great advice about celebrating one’s season, and putting on hold personal dreams and ambitions, making sure that I am there first and foremost for my husband and child.  I like how she shared that a mom can make use of pockets of time to learn or sharpen a skill, but of course make sure that she doesn’t lose sight of priorities, in taking care of her roles as a wife and mom.

Though there are a lot of dreams being placed in my heart still, I am relishing this one-of-a-kind experience of being a hands-on parent and a devoted wife.

It’s also nice to be open-minded to new experiences, as these are also great things to share with your children.  I know I’m always keeping my eyes peeled for refreshing things to try and do, whether it’s on my own and most especially activities with my husband and child.  It’s one good way of creating new memories for yourself and those you love.

I’m no longer as active as I once was, and I know that I have to embrace this season I’m in, since the choice to spend time with my husband and my child (especially in her formative years) is a truly special time, and a privilege not that many people enjoy.

Still, looking at these photos of being on TV do bring a smile on my face.  I know it will make my child smile too.
