A friend of mine shared something awesome on Facebook. If you’re a die-hard Michael Jackson fan like I am (I’ve loved this artist since I was five years old!), you’re bound to enjoy this website that contains music by Michael Jackson that you may have never heard before.

For our anniversary, my husband got me something special to add to my Michael Jackson collection. (Notice that on the rightmost part of the photo are the edible photo cupcakes I had especially made for him)
My husband got me a “Michael Jackson Mega Box.” Here’s a closer look:
Admittedly, it’s not official or anything (some fans online are saying it may not even be legit) but if you’re (like I said) a die-hard fan of Michael’s, even a bottlecap from a soda bottle with something about him is worth something! And I do so appreciate the way my husband always keeps his eyes peeled for something new and unique to add to my MJ collection, which I’ve been tending for years now.
The Mega Box contains 4 DVDs featuring over 10 hours of rare exclusive material (interviews, press conferences, fan’s camera action, and other revealing footage about the life of Michael Jackson). There’s a 32-page tribute biography and full discography mini-book, with a special tribute section on the Staples Center memorial in LA. There’s also something included that made me feel really amused: “a transcripted seance where Michael is asked questions that were responded to using a Ouija board, a fascinating connection that will bring peace of mind to many of Michael’s fans.”
I have hard-to-find items that I consider treasures, but more importantly, I have cherished memories of growing up with Michael Jackson’s music. There’s almost always a song of his that I can attach to a specific memory of my growing-up years, as well as the times I’ve had the most poignant and searing kind of pain and heartbreak. Only an artist as passionate and as gifted as Michael can truly penetrate the consciousness of his fans’ world, and I do believe that there is only one MJ.
Now I haven’t browsed through the entire box yet, but I have to tell you, I’m excited. Hehe!
There is no music contained in this CD, that’s why I’m so intrigued by this gift. I can just turn to my collection of vinyl and cds for music overload later. (*Thanks again, Love!)
Today, August 29, 2010, Michael Jackson would have turned 51. Happy Birthday, King of Pop! I’m certain you’re filling the heavens with music as you bounce off starlight and moonwalk beyond our imagination with the King of Kings.
