I LOVE TAGAYTAY! (Places to go, Food to Try)

Tagaytay holds a special place in our hearts.  Here are a couple of places we’ve gone to, and food places we’ve tried in idyllic Tagaytay that we’ve enjoyed.  I hope to keep updating this post as we discover more nice venues to share, where you can spend romantic getaways or even family bonding moments!

1. The Boutique Bed & Breakfast

We stayed at the Boutique for 2 days, and it was such a relaxing experience being in such an intimate venue with comfy amenities and of course a spectacular view.  It was romantic since it was a cherished time for us as a couple.

Outside The Boutique

Inside the Lobby (check out that beautiful and huge chair!)

You can choose your own toiletries…It’s such an experience picking out your own soaps, shampoo and conditioner, room scents, plus you get to choose from a selection of DVDs you can enjoy in the comfort of your room.  The toiletries (like body scrubs or lotion) are also great gift ideas.

Hallway to the room we picked…For our stay, we chose the “I LUST” room that has a bathtub right inside, with a spectacular view.

The TUB (Shades drawn, Shades down)

The Bed (that little stuffed toy doesn’t come with the room, it’s actually our toy Chandler, heehee)

A Room With The View (shots of the outside of our room…You can see the shade drawn where the bathtub is…It’s conveniently at the corner of the bed and breakfast, the restaurant is below)

The LCD TV, box of (chosen) toiletries, Room Speakers, Breakfast Menu

Microwave Popcorn freshly popped that you can request from the the room service

Dinner you can order from the Boutique’s Hawaiian BBQ Restaurant: We ordered their famous Baby Back ribs, and Bulalo —super filling!

Caramelized spam (we ordered this the following day)

A glimpse of their breakfasts served in bed (we tried the Filipino breakfast first, then the following day, their American breakfast set)

Filipino Breakfast (tapa and egg, tuyo and egg)

American Breakfast (bacon and eggs with mini-pancakes and fruit)

Replenished Toiletries

2. Antonio’s

It’s not surprising why Antonio’s in Tagaytay is considered a huge favorite by so many couples and families…It has this wonderful ambience, the food is always excellent, and it’s private and intimate.

Tagaytay City
Purok 138, Brgy. Neogan
Tagaytay, Cavite
Philippines

Phone Number: (63 46) 413-0975, (63 918) 899-2866

Here’s what we tried when we dined there one beautiful and quiet early lunch hour:

Soup and Pan-Seared Duck Liver Salad

Sorbet (to cleanse the palate before the entrees)

Rack of Lamb (for sidings, you can choose from Japanese rice, mashed potato, rice with olive oil, rock salt garlic potato fries or pumpkin sage risoni)

Chocolate Souffle and Molten Chocolate Cake for dessert

Beautiful view, lush greenery, pleasant and eye-catching interiors

3. Gourmet’s Cafe

Address: Km. 52, Aguinaldo Highway,  Lalaan II,  Silang, Tagaytay

It’s a deli, restaurant, and farm rolled into one where you can pick up fresh produce and bottled salad dressings, kapeng barako and other coffee variants, and a few knick-knacks from their shop.  We enjoyed their salads, wild mushroom soup, pasta, and pizza, and you can actually tour their mini-farm.

Freshly made salad and yummy dressing, mushroom soup, pasta, pesto dip, pizza we enjoyed

There were beautiful pieces of art displayed inside the restaurant where we visited.  There is a grand piano in the middle of the restaurant.  The few times I’ve been to Gourmet’s there was a very talented pianist playing some beautiful tunes for the diners.

4. Buon Giorno Caffe and Bistro, Cliffhouse

Apart from the breathtaking view of Taal, you will truly get to enjoy one of the best Italian restaurants in Tagaytay in Cliffhouse. This fantastic restaurant is called Buon Giorno.

Their cannelloni is mouthwatering.

Their Al Margherita Pizza is exactly as their menu describes…”Blissful simplicity.”   Tomato, Mozzarella, and Basil!

Their serving of ravioli looked deceptively small but truly tasty and filling!

For dessert, we picked up some ice cream from FIC, which also had a kiosk at Cliffhouse, right next to Buon Giorno.

5. T House

This has been one of our top favorite places to stay in Tagaytay…Not only does this place have comfortable and homey rooms for couples and big families, they have an in-house spa where you can schedule massages, foot spas, and even an outdoor foot massage, and they also have a restaurant inside the compound that serves excellent food (just in case you don’t feel like driving out to eat).  They have wonderful toiletries (soaps, shampoos, lotion) specially made for them by Ilog Maria Honey Bee farms.

It looks pretty romantic at night

I especially loved this percussion instrument, a nice touch.

6. Ilog Maria HoneyBee Farm

Right smack in Silang Cavite is a treasure trove for useful and refreshing gift ideas, as well as the major source for all things that have to do with bees and honey.

The Ilog Maria Honey Bee Farm is a good place to visit if you want to pick up honeybee products like bath salts, soaps (honey, coffee, carrot, sandalwood, kalamansi and ginger, spearmint and oatmeal, milk and honey, rosemary, lavender, bamboo charcoal bergamot and lime soaps!), floating candles, beeswax candles, citronella fly repellants, mosquito repellants,  aromatherapy oils, royal jelly, roasted coffee, balsams, bee pollen, honey propolis shampoo, massage oils, honey face scrubs, bath gels, lotions, hand creams, vinegar honey, virgin honey, toothpaste, liquid soaps, feminine wash, liniment, ointment, and throat spray.

All these products are reasonably priced and worth the trip, so I suggest that you buy by the bulk when you’re there.  I have given Ilog Maria products as gifts many times, and my recipients always thank me because they enjoy using the soaps and products I pick up from there.

Currently under construction is their Bee Museum, which is bound to gain a lot of attention and following from curious and interested folk.

There are still so many great places to explore and try in Tagaytay, but for now I do hope you enjoy checking out the ones I’ve mentioned here.  :) Hope to get your thoughts and comments! Blessings always!
